Broken capillaries & spider veins

Broken capillaries are commonly referred to as spider veins. The medical term for this condition is “astelangiectasia” and involves tiny blood vessels breaking just below the skin. The condition is particularly common around the nose, cheeks and legs. Common causes include genetics, sun exposure and weather changes, pregnancy, alcohol consumption and trauma or injury to the area. Other than their appearance, spider veins do not cause any other symptoms but can be easily removed if desired.
